if you want to use the apps for this you should have a Microsoft email.id , with the use of your email.id you can sign in to Microsoft mail ,calendar, check Weather, Travel, Sport and News and one the best thing you can change your apps position by simply drag and drop
How To Launch Start Menu
just go to left bottom panel with your pointer ,then the start menu icon appear click that and the start menu will appear in full size .there is one more way of launching start menu just by pressing the start (win key) key .
Customizing The Start Menu
I love this feature because this feature enables us to customize the start theme and its color for this open start menu than type "start" in right hand side choose setting than start screen, the next windows look like following picture
Now choose what color you want and background theme that is above the color choice option
You can also customize lock screen background by choosing lock screen that located top of start customizing window And what apps you want show when you lock your computer
Where is Shut Down Bottom In Windows 8
you have to go right side with your pointer and wait for few second some option will come and choose "setting" than click on "power' bottom and choose shut down,sleep,or restart
